Sour Grapes Retrospective – The Wonder Years
Rising Gallery is all a buzz with the new exhibition, Wonder Years, works by graffiti collective SourGrapes13. The surprise guest star of the show is Boog Brown, aninternational tattoo artist who paints as well. A few nights ago, Boog was down at Rising Gallery painting a large panel piece for the show. This work features his stylized lettering, sexy Latin lady with a rose in her hair and a single tear rolling down her cheek. The word, SourGrapes, at the top of the piece in Boog’s trademark style, and FAMILIA, in banner form at the bottom, illustrates the bonds he has with this art collective. There is no doubt after viewing his work and chatting with him about his worldwide acclaim, Boog is a badass
Kettle Art Forces of Nature Art Show
I had the pleasure of attending Kettle Art, ‘Forces of Nature’, opening one hot Thursday night. The exhibition features works from 6 women artists and their interpretation on the theme. What happens after the fire, the sensual cacti, and the joyful celebration of life caught my attention and brought me in for a closer look at this exhibition

Dallas will be buzzing with art collectors this weekend with two art fair events. The first is the prestigious event Dallas Art Fair. The VIP tickets run $300. Goss-Michael Foundation Invite Only
Mid-November I was lucky enough to grab an invite to the preview of the new Goss-Michael Foundation space. We were all given a tour of the new space by Aphrodite Gonou, the curator of the Foundation. Aphrodite’s knowledge of the art is unlike any I have experienced. I did a write up for here you will find intriguing. If given an opportunity to tour the new space with the curator, I would definitely jump at that offer
RISING Gallery Opens I Am Women to a Packed Venue
RISING Gallery was pulsing like a crowded downtown nightclub for a full three hours on July 15, 2010, for theI Am Woman art opening. The FGIII Art & McKane organization who put on the exhibition packed the venue with great art, a DJ, string musicians, a beautiful crowd, and eighteen local smoking hot female artists. The show features a group of artists’ works benefiting Alley’s House, a non-profit for teen mothers and their children. The artwork is on 24 x 24 inch canvases all priced at $300 and based on the theme “feminity, love, beauty, passion and power”
